School Lunches

School lunches

School Meals

Lunches are cooked on the premises and we ask parents to support our school dinner service. There is always a good selection of well balanced and nutritious options available. Menus are available so that parents are well informed about what is on offer and children can choose their meal in advance.

All dinner money should be brought into school on a Monday morning in an envelope marked with the child’s name, class, date and amount. The child should hand it in at registration. It is helpful if the correct money is enclosed or payment is made by cheque.

All children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a free school meal under the Universal Infant Free School Meals initiative.

Cheques should be made payable to Newcastle City Council. The current cost of a school meal is £2.00 per day (£10.00 per week). If your child is entitled to a free school meal please speak to the office as soon as possible.

Alternatively, children may bring a healthy packed lunch (no fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate bars, please). This should be brought to school in an appropriately labelled bag or box. Packed lunches are stored in areas designated for each class and are collected on the way to the hall. We encourage children to bring a healthy packed lunch - this helps them to concentrate and do their best in the afternoons. Advice about packed lunches is available from:

Lunchtime supervisors and teaching assistants will supervise the children in the yards and school hall during lunchtimes. During bad weather children are supervised within their classrooms
