Spiritual Arts Week December 2019

Our School

Scripture Engagement Through Art
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
From the very first verse of Scripture, God reveals himself as the Creator, an Artist.
As a beginning of our preparations for Advent and to mark the beginning of the Year of the Word the whole school has collaborated on an extensive arts project to celebrate  World Values and our faith.
The children have spent a week exploring our World Value themes through Scripture, Art, Music, Dance, Poetry, Mandalas and Creativity.
This exciting event has been shared with parents, carers and our parishioner's through an art instillation in the school hall on Friday 6th December from 2pm. It was on display all day to see, to join in and celebrate with.
Some parent and carers comments:
"Truly breath taking!"
"It was uplifting!"
"An amazing experience!"
Some of the children's comments as they entered the hall:
"I love the angels and the lights!"
"It feels so calm"
As they were working on the project:
"I have liked composing the music to match the starry night"
"I liked making the houses and the pictures"
"I loved making our angels"
