Shoebox Liturgy
Every year, we join numerous schools and organisations to support the Link to Hope Charity by sending shoeboxes filled with useful and gift items to families in Romania and other Eastern European countries.
This initiative is very special to our hearts and the children take great delight in planning what to put in their boxes. We have a special ‘Shoebox Liturgy’ where the children bring their shoeboxes to be collected. The junior children help to fill a van that goes to Europe to deliver our gifts and spread joy to others. We always receive a letter of thanks with pictures and information on the people who receive the boxes.
"Helping to organise the collection of the shoeboxes really made me feel responsible and that we were doing something really good for others."-Kian
Our Mini Vinnies and Mrs Smith have been encouraging everyone to fill a shoebox for families living in poverty in Eastern Europe.
They have collected hats, toys and other items and have been selling them for 20p on the yard after school, to help with the cost of filling a shoebox.
If you can help, please bring your wrapped, packed and sealed shoebox into school with two £1 coins attached by Monday 29th October, the first week back after half term.
