This Harvest Fast Day St Mark's fundraising is helping communities lift themselves out of poverty.
Millions of families around the world do not have enough food and children miss out on school. Your support is helping to change this.
Join our Harvest festival and help build a brighter world, free from poverty. Our school fundraiser could be as simple as dressing up in bright clothes, strapping a willing teacher to the wall, or holding a bright cake sale!
Every class gets £25 and we have to make it grow. This year, Year 5 raised the most money-with their slime sales raising over £200 themselves. In total we made about £1,000 by selling all of the things that we have made and by wearing brightly coloured clothing.
This money went to CAFOD, Mary's Meals and along with your generous food parcels donated, to the West End Foodbank.
Year 6 have worked on a special project on the Foodbank and written to Catherine McKinnell (MP),Boris Johnson PM, Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Opposition.
Thank you for your support.
Let's see which class will get their money to grow the most next year!!!
Fast Day 2019 prayer: For a harvest shared by all
For a harvest shared by all
St Francis of Assisi,
your whole life sang in harmony
with God, nature and others.
With you, we praise God for Brother Sun,
full of beauty and splendour,
warming the earth,
summoning shoots
from darkness into daylight.
We praise God for Sister Water,
so useful and humble,
precious and pure,
greening arid ground,
growing life in desert places.
Pray for us Francis, that, like you,
we may care for all that exists,
until Brother Sun and Sister Water
produce a harvest shared by all,
in love and solidarity,
justice and peace.
Amen.
